Capture Sports & Entertainment, along with some of the athletes and media partners we work with, were looking for a way to help the local Wisconsin community when the COVID-19 pandemic began to sweep the country.

The concept of a radiothon not only provided an entertainment opportunity for radio listeners, it also gave them an opportunity to give back to those directly impacted by the pandemic.

We worked with Milwaukee Bucks Guard Pat Connaughton to host the Athletes Doing Good radiothon on ESPN Wisconsin. The 11-hour event benefitted Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin and Connaughton’s With Us Foundation.

THE STORY

The Athletes Doing Good Radiothon aired on Thursday, May 21, 2020, with partner ESPN Wisconsin and one-day only host Milwaukee Bucks Player Pat Connaughton.
The radiothon featured 35 interviews with Connaughton, athletes and coaches, including all three Wisconsin MVPs: Aaron Rodgers, Christian YelichandGiannis Antetokounmpo, and all three Wisconsin professional sports coaches: Matt LaFleur, Craig CounsellandMike Budenholzer.

Listeners had the opportunity to hear from some of their favorite athletes, make online donations, and bid on silent auction items, including signed sports memorabilia.
