DWYANE WADE
Dwyane Wade is an American former professional basketball player. Wade spent the majority of his 16-year career playing for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and won three NBA championships, was a 13-time NBA All-Star, an 8-time member of the All-NBA Team, and a 3-time member of the All-Defensive Team. Wade is also Miami's all-time leader in points, games, assists, steals, shots made, and shots taken.
Giving back to the Milwaukee community and ensuring all children have every opportunity to succeed is important to Wade and Diener. Named after his sister, Wade currently funds The Tragil Wade-Johnson Summer Reading Program through Marquette. The University says in the first three years of the summer reading program, 131 second- and -third grade students-every single participant-either maintained or increased their reading level. Funds raised from the Wade vs. Diener events will help fund literacy programs like this.
